About Me

Who Am I?

I’m just a guy who wanted to be healthy. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Brent CordeiroAs I grew out of my late twenties, I went from being a single, “sleep to noon” kind of guy to a husband and father of two beautiful girls.  Gone were the Saturday nights at the bar, replaced with Saturday mornings in the play room.  Somewhere between a tea session and an epic Peppa Pig marathon, it occurred to me that I had a responsibility to take care of these girls (and myself) for the next several decades.  I owed it to my family to ensure I was doing everything possible to live a long and healthy life … and I would come to discover I had a long way to go.  I didn’t realize it then, but I was embarking on a journey toward a healthy lifestyle.

What I’ve found is that a Google search alone couldn’t quite solve this for me.  Everywhere I looked on the web, I found links to articles about the benefits of a plant-based diet or the new fitness trend that the Kardashian’s were following, but there wasn’t a place to go to help me figure out which components to put in place to live a healthy lifestyle.  I created this website as a way to share what I’ve learned and hopefully I inspire you along the way.

What I’m About

Healthy Life at a whole Foods
I’m the one without the tutu

“I’m a hockey player playing golf,” said the wise Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore.  Well, sometimes that’s how I feel.  I’m a business professional working in the financial services industry, who has an innate curiosity around the concept of “living healthy.”  During the day I solve operational business problems and read about process improvement.  By night (and sometimes on the weekends) I read about plant-based diets, natural treatments for medical conditions and pockets of society that seem to have found the trick for a long, healthy life.

My more formal background, if it doesn’t completely bore you: I’m not your typical doctor, nutritionist, or extreme yoga instructor.  I’m a strategy consultant turned “Operations Guy” with a MBA from Wake Forest and a BA from Stonehill College.  I grew up and remain “Boston Strong,” though I now live in Charlotte, North Carolina with my wonderful wife and two girls, who keep me happy and busy.

This is the “cliffs notes” version of my background.  Click here for the extended version…
